Adopt a Newb!
Hi. I downloaded the free trial for this game yesterday. I loved it so much, that tomorrow I'll be purchasing the Trilogy (Which comes with Eye of the North for free) online. I have been reading the wiki trying to understand this game (past pre-searing). I have no idea what anything means. At all. I am asking for a person to help me out, create a new character and play along side me, teaching and mentoring. I will be creating said character Thursday morning. I will decide Wednesday night who'll be my master, who I will apprentice (if anyone even responds that is). Thank you.
TL;DR If ^ that is too long, then leave. |

I'm not really a veteran of this site but I can show you the ropes of the game. I've beaten all campaigns and know the various abbrevations you'll need to know to get through the game. I can also help you get started with pvp if you want. Also if your interested in a guild mine would love to have you. We're small but fun and the alliance is nice and helpful.

No worries there Chaos, there are plunty of guilds out there that are willing to take in new player like yourself, and also set them their very first toon up so you can play with the rest of the group. Just go hunting, you already have 2-3 offers in this thread.

Ignore the site for now, it will only ruin the fun parts of the game. I'd say more but I'm using an on-screen keyboard. |

If you need equipment, let me know. My yearly Wintersday Giveaway is going on now, and new players like yourself are the very reason I've been doing it for five seasons "D

If you intend to start off in Prophecies, then presearing.com is a good resource for the beginner area.

Welcome to Guildwars! =] I will help you if you need tips or advice on how to do stuff, if you want I can run you to outposts depending on which campaign you are in. I suppose my biggest piece of advice to you is DONT GIVE UP, things may seem hard when you dont have the skills and nobody is there to help you in a moment of need but you will have so much fun when you get to the point where you can do anything and you know the game inside and out.
My ign is shorty got spellz if you wanna hit me up for tips and stuff =] |

I'll be honest with you, you're going about this the wrong way if you want to play and enjoy Guild Wars. If you want a challenge and you want to learn the game then begin by just playing and learning as you go. You don't need a mentor, you DEFINITELY don't need PvXwiki. Just play.
Once you go post play the quests with henchies and play the missions with PUGs. Don't team with level 20 characters until you're level 20, otherwise they'll just carry you through while you think you're pro -- that's the thing about Guild Wars PvE, you can be completely bad and still succeed if you have a half-way decent team. And you'll never even realize that you're bad; instead you'll think the game is easy and then there's no reason to keep playing it. Unless you really enjoy the social aspects of gaming I wouldn't join a guild until at least Lion's Arch (a major city in the game), and if you do join a guild before that then don't team with them. Talk in chat, ask questions, and tell jokes, but team with random other newbies or even just henchies until you actually do learn the game. Play the game as if you like the game, and not as if you're looking for a free ride through it, and you'll love it. It's very easy to love. Welcome to Guild Wars |

@Rattylad
1. Thread Starter link is in the dark brown area just above the first thread. 2. The wiki has the lists of missions and primary quests that lead to them here http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Mission 3. Try messaging a mod and ask them to make this a separate thread.
